Taccio Vecchio
Also known as: Grotta di Taccio Vecchio
Boats anchor on a plateau of 4 to 10 m, and clouds of damselfish follow divers to the cave mouth at about 8 m. Inside, a narrow first chamber leads to a main chamber lit in blue and turquoise by sunlight from the main opening and smaller fissures. Divers leave through a large chimney at about 18 m and continue along the outer wall of the point over sand dotted with fan worms. Experienced divers can swim north to a shoal at about 30 m with large dentex and groupers, and barracuda schools in warmer months. Jacks, amberjack, parrotfish and white seabream are common.
