Geronisos Island
Also known as: St George Island · Saint George Island · Geronissos
The dive begins on a ridge at 12 m, where the dark entrance of the cave opens between the rocks; less experienced divers follow the top of the ridge, while others enter the tunnel, follow its turns and exit through a crack in the reef at about 18 m. Because the reef is porous volcanic rock, bubbles seep out of it after divers pass. The lower ridge at about 35 m is covered in pink, purple and orange algae and sponges that glow under a torch. Dotted sea slugs, pink Flabellina and other nudibranchs, dusky groupers, lionfish, bream, damselfish and wrasse are common. It is often combined with Manijin Island on a two-tank trip.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
