Mother Hen Rock Outer Reef
Also known as: Mother Chicken Rock Outer Reef · 母雞岩外礁 (Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan))
The outer reef is reached by swimming from the Mother Hen Rock snorkelling area out towards the open sea. Two rounded boulders stand side by side on white sand, with their tops only 2 to 3 m below the surface and their bases at about 21 m. The gap between them is about 18 m deep and forms a passage, and coral caves open around them. Large numbers of anthias live here, and the current is usually weak. Because the tops cannot be seen from the surface, a guide who knows the spot helps to find it.
