Back Faru
The reef top is very shallow and the reef deepens gradually, so snorkellers sometimes share the site with divers, and visibility is usually good. Divers follow the reef behind the wave break off Faru island in whichever direction the current runs, which makes it a common check dive. Turtles, eagle rays, dogtooth tuna and whitetip reef sharks are common, and schools of surgeonfish feed around the large coral blocks. Nurse sharks rest in the overhangs and small caves deeper down, while soft corals host humpback snappers, large sweetlips, anthias and gobies.
