Hard Rock Cafe

Also known as: Temple Island

Hard Rock Cafe, also called Temple Island, is a rock rising about 10 m out of the sea just off the mainland north of Ras Bashin. The reef slopes gradually to sand all the way around, so the usual plan is to enter in the north and circle the rock with the reef on the right. On the eastern side the broken-up wreck of a dhow lies at about 20 m. Shoals of jacks and fusiliers, batfish, angelfish, stingrays and lobsters are common, with marble rays and leopard sharks seen at times. A current is often met about 15 to 20 minutes into the dive.
