Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf
Also known as: Santa Cruz Wharf · Wharf 2
Divers at the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf enter from a boat landing with two ladders, across from Stagnaro's near the end of the wharf. Each piling is crowded with nudibranchs, sea stars, anemones, tunicates, chitons and sponges, and large schools of perch move between them. Large male sea lions rest under the wharf, and at night crabs, octopus and many fish come out. Visibility is often under 5 ft and rarely above 20 ft, so timing the dive just before high tide matters. Monterey Scuba Board currently advises against diving here while the wharf is repaired after damage in 2024.
