Fairey Swordfish

Also known as: Swordfish

The torpedo bomber suffered engine failure soon after take-off from Hal Far and the crew of two survived. Its fabric covering has gone, leaving the steel frame, while the engine, propeller and cowling survive. The intact position points to a controlled ditching. Only a handful of Swordfish still exist, which makes this wreck rare; it was found in June 2017 and is managed by Heritage Malta.
