At Vicente divers follow the drop-off, where coral mountains at the edge descend from about 20 m to 40 m. Beyond them the wall continues into very deep water, given by Avalon as 800 m. The wall carries massive colonies of black coral. Visibility is commonly more than 40 m. A great hammerhead sometimes appears out of the blue.
