Admiral Ship Vis

Also known as: Vis · Wreck VIS

The Vis was built in 1956 at the Uljanik shipyard in Pula as a command ship of the Yugoslav Navy, with a steel hull and aluminium decks. It now lies upright with its bow facing north, about 250 m off the west coast of Kamenjak south of Polje Bay near the small bay of Plovanija. Its upper decks begin at about 18 m and so can be reached by divers trained to 20 m, while the bottom is at around 32 to 34 m. Shoals of fish have moved into the former saloons that once hosted politicians and celebrities. Orca charges an extra permit fee for this dive.
