Hans Schmidt
Also known as: Istra · Hans Schmidt (Istra) · Istra (Hans Schmidt) · Hans Schmidt Wreck
The ship was built in the Netherlands in 1920 as the Albireo and carried the name of her last German owner when she sank while transporting weapons and ammunition. The explosion separated the bow, which now lies a short distance from the main hull. Because her identity was long unknown the wreck was called Istra, and Wannadive still notes some doubt about which ship it is. A rare type of anchor that has not been made for more than a century is one of the curiosities on board, and the large hull attracts conger eels and dense schools of fish. The wreck is protected by the Ministry of Culture and can only be dived with licensed dive centres; old fishing nets are a hazard.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
