South Marianne

Also known as: South Marianne Island · South Mariane Island

South Marianne lies east of La Digue, about 30 minutes by boat from Côte d'Or on Praslin, passing Ave Maria, Ile Cocos, the Sisters, La Digue and Félicité on the way. Rock formations with pinnacles, canyons and boulder fields reach down to about 25 m. Strong currents make it one of the best drift dives of the Inner Islands. Grey reef sharks, eagle rays, turtles, barracuda, giant morays, jacks and tuna are common, and guitarfish are also reported. Scuba Diving magazine recommends it for advanced divers.
