Bird Egg Rock Blue Cave
Also known as: 鳥卵岩藍洞 (Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan)) · Bird Egg Rock · Blue Cave
Seen from Youzi Lake the rock looks like an egg in a nest, which gave it its name. On its east side a trench with sheer walls ends in a large natural arch and, beyond it, a cave at about 25 m. Sea turtles use the cave to rest, giant trevally hunt inside, and wrasse, moray eels and resident striped beakfish live around the entrance. Circling the rock reveals a landscape compared to a miniature Guilin. Outside the cave the current, usually from south to north, can be strong, and gorgonians cluster there.
