Wied il-Mielaħ

Also known as: Wied il-Mielah

Since the Azure Window collapsed, the Wied il-Mielaħ window is the best-known remaining sea arch of Gozo. A reef about 12 m deep and 30 m long runs out from the foot of the arch, with a swim-through at about 18 m between reef and wall. Towards the valley a large cave with an air pocket makes a gentle end to the dive, and west of the arch a crack-like cave open to the surface is very photogenic. Eastwards the wall drops to 50 m and beyond, and barracuda shoals often hang in the blue off the arch. The site is reached by boat only.
