Tal-Barba Cave

Also known as: Barba Cave · Ghar tal-Barba · 200m Tunnel

The name comes from the Maltese word for beard, after the shape of the entrance. Because the cave is straight, the exit stays in view all the way in. The site is rarely dived: from the shore it means a long swim or a scooter, so many divers take a small boat from the Inland Sea to the cave and dive back, visiting Whale Cave on the way. Despite its nickname of 200m Tunnel, the cave is not that long.
