Joe's Tug

Despite its name, Joe's Tug was a shrimper that sank in 1986, was raised and later went down again at its present spot amid coral heads and sponges. Hurricane Georges tore off the wheelhouse in 1998 and Hurricane Irene broke the hull in two the following year, leaving bow and stern about 30 feet apart. The hull and aft deck are open to divers, and large star corals and barrel sponges surround the wreck. Moray eels, barracuda, grunts, jacks and a resident goliath grouper are reported.
