Baixa da Barca
Also known as: Barca Reef
Baixa da Barca is a demanding dive whose depth range suits technical divers as well. Its top attracts seasonal schools of yellowmouth barracuda, almaco jacks and Atlantic bonito. Ledges and passages along the flank between 30 and 50 m hold dusky and island groupers, forkbeard, barred hogfish and red scorpionfish. Large shoals of blue jack mackerel are the main draw, because they pull in devil rays, ocean sunfish and other open-water hunters.
