Baía de Entre Montes
Also known as: Entre Montes · Baía de Entre os Montes
Entre Montes lies in a small bay beside the Guia Hill that is protected from wind and current, which makes it suitable for beginners as well as experienced divers. The dive follows the rock wall and its cracks, where moray eels, octopus, jewel anemones, hermit crabs and nudibranchs live. Where the rock meets the sand at around 15 m, flounders, lizardfish and razorfish hide on the bottom. The deepest sandy part near 20 m is a good place for common stingrays and the odd dusky grouper. Dive Azores calls it a nursery area for stingrays and a very good night dive, and Haliotis notes that seahorses are often found here.
