Sea Aquarium

The Sea Aquarium is a shallow coral reef on the northwest side of O'Briens Cay, inside the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. Its name comes from the feeling of swimming inside a fish tank: the water is very clear and hundreds of reef fish crowd around the coral formations. Sergeant majors, blue tangs, parrotfish, angelfish, wrasses and trumpetfish are among the fish seen here, and many of them are used to people and come close. Because the park is a strict no-take zone, nothing may be touched or removed. Visitors usually come by dinghy from the Cambridge Cay mooring field or the Bell Island anchorage, and the site is best visited around slack tide when the current is weak.
