Danger Reef
Danger Reef owes its name to its many sharks; Caribbean reef sharks, which used to be fed here before the park was established, still cruise close to divers. Despite the name, the dive is relaxed and fairly shallow, and divers simply keep a respectful distance from the sharks. The terrain is a maze of high-profile coral heads, some about 20 ft tall, standing on sand at around 60 ft. Hundreds of reef fish crowd around the heads, Nassau groupers wait under the boat and horse-eye jacks often keep divers company during the safety stop. The no-take rules of the park also protect the many lobsters in the reef.
