Secca del Cretazzo

Also known as: Cretazzo

The shoal forms a triangular rocky plateau of more than a hectare in front of the point, and some of its peaks reach the surface. Blu Tek compares the colourful setting to a tropical dive and describes a labyrinth of walls, recesses, sand and passages ending at a low cave guarded by fan mussels. Along the edge, which runs for about 400 m, bream, salema, parrotfish, dusky and golden groupers are common. The AMP guidebook also describes it as a snorkelling route and notes Mediterranean barracuda on its southern side.
