L'Espingole
Also known as: Espingole
The ship was freed from the shoal but had taken on too much water and sank; several salvage attempts later failed. The forward third has broken off and lies on its side, while the rest of the hull, sheltered from the east wind, is open enough to see the compartments, the boilers and the remains of machinery. Mio Palmo places it 400 m west of the Pointe Andati near Cap Lardier and notes little current.
