Lobster Rock
Lobster Rock sits right next to the Ulloa site, so divers often start at one and finish at the other. Schooling reef fish, cottonmouth jacks and surgeonfish gather here, and in the afternoon black triggerfish and convict tangs spawn at the base of the rock while whitetips are cleaned by gobies. A plateau of rhodolith to the north holds the endemic rosy-lipped batfish, and the sand flats host rays, flounders and garden and snake eels. Marble, eagle and manta rays, frogfish and the odd tiger shark complete the picture. Being fairly sheltered from surface conditions, it serves as a backup when Alcyone cannot be reached.
