Roman Rock
The lighthouse makes the site easy to find, and the best reef terrain lies to the west and north of it, with a large cave about 150 m north of the rock. Steeper faces are covered in feather stars and occasional large sea fans, while dense patches of sea cucumbers cover the ridge tops and kelp grows in the shallows. On the sand there are sand stars, burrowing anemones and purple sea pens. Seals are regularly encountered, and the varied depth allows small multi-level dives. The site is named after the roman, an endemic red reef fish.
