Cow and Calf

The inner reef lies about 33 m from the shore and the outer reef about 45 m out, with a sheer seaward face rising from about 10 m nearly to the surface. The bottom slopes gently to sand at about 12 to 13 m, with an average depth of about 7 m. Gorgonian sea fans grow at the base of the ridges, multicolour sea fans higher up, and red bait on the tops. The site is fairly sheltered from south-westerly swell and is good for photographing invertebrates.
