Rocky Bay
Sandstone ridges and gullies run roughly parallel to a steep shoreline, then the bottom slopes gradually with fewer and lower outcrops. About 200 to 400 m out is a stable shingle bottom crusted with invertebrates, and the depth reaches about 21 m at 200 m and 27 m at 600 m offshore. Basket stars live on the deeper reefs and galjoen in the inshore gullies. Visibility is often poor because surge stirs up the bottom. The site can be dived from a boat or from the shore via a gully or the river mouth.
