Coral Gardens

The site centres on a bowl formed by a rocky promontory, a ridge and an inshore pinnacle, with more pinnacles further offshore and an air-bubble cave at about 8 m. Narrow gaps and swim-throughs lead between huge boulders, and Into the Blue describes an amphitheatre of coral walls with hottentot swirling overhead. Shore access from the Oudekraal picnic area means a long surface swim or a rope-assisted climb, and boats seldom go because of the distance. The site is very exposed, so it is only worth diving in good conditions.
