White Island Black Forest

Also known as: Black Forest · White Island Black Forrest · Black Forrest

Black Forest lies on the south-west side of White Island, a sandbar about ten minutes by boat from the north coast of Camiguin. A sloping sandy reef holds a dense garden of black coral mixed with hard and soft corals and scattered bommies. Schools of Moorish idols and butterflyfish are abundant, and hawksbill turtles, ribbon and moray eels, mantis shrimp and frogfish live on the reef. When the current runs, jacks, snappers, fusiliers and sweetlips gather and the dive becomes a drift. The view of Hibok-Hibok volcano from the surface is part of the appeal.
