Tokai Maru
The Tokai Maru was built in 1930 as a fast passenger and cargo ship and was torpedoed by the US submarine USS Snapper on 27 August 1943 after earlier damage by USS Flying Fish. She settled on her port side directly next to the SMS Cormoran, which had been scuttled in 1917. The hull is about 440 ft long, still in very good condition, and too large to see in a single dive. Torpedo and strafing damage is visible at the bow and in the number 4 hold. Following the contour below the rear of the bridge down to about 80 ft brings divers to the Cormoran.
