Anilao Pier
Also known as: Beatriz Pier · Anilao Port Pier
By day the pier looks unremarkable, but after dark the pilings and wall fill with shrimps, crabs, eels, sea squirts and sponges. Painted frogfish, pipefish and leaf scorpionfish hide in a small patch of hard coral nearby. The open sand holds stargazers, bobbit worms, coconut octopus, bobtail squid and the occasional mimic octopus. The site is also used for blackwater bonfire dives, where lights on the sand draw larval fish and other drifting creatures. Its shallow depth allows very long dives.
