Basura
Also known as: Muck & Macro
The gently sloping bottom of sand and loose rubble hosts frogfish, seahorses, mimic octopus, pipefish and ghost pipefish. In the dry months seagrass grows on the sand, giving photographers a green backdrop. At night bobbit worms and other nocturnal hunters come out. Currents are rarely an issue here, which makes long, slow critter hunts easy. During the rainy season many sea urchins appear, so divers need to watch where they settle.
