Zoetersbout
Also known as: Zijpe · Zoetersbout / Zijpe
Divers climb the dike through a sheep gate and enter from a stair, helped by a rope at low water. Down to about fifteen metres the dike is covered with stones and oysters, with anemones, sea squirts, sea urchins, starfish, lobsters and many small sea slugs; deeper it turns to sand. To one side sepia structures attract cuttlefish in season, and straight out a pit drops to about thirty metres. Seahorses have been seen here, and curious bass often follow divers. The fairway is close, so divers come up along the shore rather than making a free ascent.
