Kerkweg Den Osse

Also known as: Nieuwe Kerkweg · Den Osse Nieuwe Kerkweg · Kerkweg · Meeuwenstein · Trapje van Irene

The site is equipped like a dive base, with a fill station, changing rooms, showers and a cafeteria next to the car park. From the jetty the bottom first slopes gently over sand, then a low underwater dike leads to a steep stone slope. Large concrete slabs cover parts of the slope like tiles, and the rare dahlia anemone can be found between them. Since 2002 about a hundred reef balls form an artificial reef at around seven to eight metres, almost every one occupied by a lobster. The shallow walls along the dike are densely covered and hold small life such as shrimps and hermit crabs. Dive schools use the site for courses and introductory dives.
