The Shoals

The Shoals is a shallow site on Fairey Reef where a coral wall is broken by swim-throughs leading into small lagoons. Most of the dive is around 8 m, though the bottom reaches about 24 m. Giant clams, sea cucumbers, blue-spotted rays and Maori wrasse are common, with occasional reef sharks. Current is negligible on most tides but can be a problem at depth.
