Luncheon Bay

Luncheon Bay is a wide bay on the north coast of Hook Island, close to the Woodpile. Every rocky outcrop is grown over with soft corals, black coral trees, gorgonians and sea whips. Bommies, caves, crevices and sections of wall that form a trench-like system make it an interesting site to navigate. Divers meet trevally, Maori wrasse, groupers, sweetlips, moray eels, coral trout and many nudibranchs. Whitetip reef sharks, turtles and an occasional manta ray also appear.
