Gary's Lagoon

Also known as: Gary's Inlet

Gary's Lagoon is a well protected inlet of Bait Reef, bounded by solid coral walls with canyons and deep ledges. Inside, the diving is easy in 4 to 12 m with little or no current over sand and low bommies. Outside the entrance the edge drops to 10 to 18 m, where current can be a problem. Soft corals and gorgonian fans shelter cod, mackerel, barracuda and coral trout, and wobbegong sharks rest under the ledges. Turtles and an occasional manta ray also visit.
