Malabea
Also known as: Malabea East · Malabea West
On the eastern section the wall is steep and cut by overhangs, canyons and crevices, all covered with soft corals, sea fans and sponges. Soft coral crabs, dottybacks, gobies, convict blennies and catfish live under the ledges, while turtles, sergeant majors, butterflyfish and redtooth triggerfish move in the blue. The western section is a gentler wall with sandy chutes and ridges full of gorgonians and large barrel sponges. Here schools of batfish and mackerel feed on plankton with open mouths, and fire dartfish, juvenile wrasse and blennies sit in the sand.
