Ten Mile Point

Also known as: Whiterock Street

Ten Mile Point lies in the Cadboro Bay district of Victoria and is reached from shore at the end of Whiterock Street or from neighbouring Spring Bay. The tide rarely stops here, and that constant flow is the reason the point is so rich in life. Divers can stay in the shallows by the shore or drop quickly to a wall in deeper water. At slack the area in front of the entry shows many sculpins and the occasional cabezon. Missing slack turns the site into a fast drift, and some divers drift on purpose from Spring Bay to the point. Because of the current it is often recommended as a boat dive.
