Snake Island Wall
Also known as: Snake Wall
From a mooring in shallow water a sand chute leads to the edge, where the bottom suddenly falls away into deep water. The wall is covered with plumose anemones and large colonies of cloud sponges, and it continues well past 150 m. Most recreational dives stay in the band between about 24 and 34 m, and an overhang on the left side sits at around 37 m. Lingcod, rockfish, Puget Sound king crabs and octopus hide on the ledges. Harbour seals from the colony on Snake Island often come to look at divers.
