Singing Sands

Also known as: King Koho

A short walk over a pebble beach near the Powell River ferry terminal leads to the water. Divers descend near the beach and head due north to reach the King Koho, a small sailboat of about 10 m that sank in the late 1990s and now lies at around 20 m. Local divers have run a line to it, and the wreck is the only real feature of the site, so it is easy to miss. The hull is covered in fish and anemones and octopus live underneath. Strong currents mean an SMB and slack tide timing are essential.
