Madrona Point
Also known as: Madrona Wall · Madrona
From the parking area at the end of Madrona Drive a short path leads to the water, where divers choose between the Small Wall, the Mid Wall and the deeper Big Wall. A line along the bottom guides divers to the Big Wall, whose top starts at around 12 m and drops below 30 m. Several octopus dens and wolf eels are the main attraction, joined by many kinds of rockfish, plumose and crimson anemones, feather stars and nudibranchs. Sea lions often pass by, and a photographer found a sunken tree trunk covered in orange plumose anemones on the silty bottom nearby. Entry is easiest at high slack tide because the sandstone gets slippery at low water.
