Esquimalt Lagoon offers a sandy stretch of coast without rocks, kelp or strong current. The beach next to the lagoon bridge gives an easy entry for beginners. Dungeness crabs are plentiful and the small bottom life rewards a slow search. Boaters come close to shore to crab and fish, so a dive flag is advisable.
