Dolphin Beach

Also known as: Dolphin · Tyee Crescent Beach

Divers enter the water carefully between large boulders, ideally on a high tide. Once down, the flat strip known as the highway is the main navigation aid: straight north it leads to the main wall, to the right it runs towards Tyee Cove. The steep wall is lined with boot sponges, feather stars and plumose anemones. Quillback, yelloweye and vermilion rockfish, large lingcod, Puget Sound king crabs, wolf eels and octopus are found on its ledges. Experienced locals often swim all the way to Tyee Cove and exit there.
