Le Scole
Also known as: Scogli delle Scole · Le Scole Sud e Nord
Boats anchor between the larger islet and the smaller rock, and current permitting the whole dive can circle the outer rock. Giglio's typical granite boulders run from the surface into the depths, first carrying yellow gorgonians and then red ones from about 30 m. Sponges of many kinds cover the walls, and dentex and barracuda often appear on the way up. A statue of the Madonna stands at about 20 m. The boulder torn off by the Concordia was put back in place and carries a small memorial plaque.
