Southwest Wall

Also known as: South West Wall

Southwest Wall lies at the far southern end of the South Atoll and is known for healthy fields of staghorn coral on the reef. The slope drops away to a steep wall where rainbow runners pass and large coral groupers impress with their size. Mild currents usually allow a gentle ride along the wall, where 20 to 50 juvenile grey reef sharks may be seen. A resident school of bumphead parrotfish feeds on the reef top, and the abundant coral and sponges also make it rewarding for macro.
