Sharks' Cavern

Also known as: Sharks Cave

The site is named after a cavity in the reef at about 35 m on the ocean side of Tiputa Pass. Despite the name the sharks are not inside it: divers settle in the cavern and stay still so that grey reef sharks overcome their shyness and come close. After about ten minutes the group leaves the corner and drifts with the incoming current into the pass, passing small colourful grottos. The difficulty is less the depth than staying together in the current. The dive finishes in the calm lagoon water.
