LCU

Also known as: Landing Craft Utility · Landing Craft Utility (LCU)

This craft was designated a Landing Craft Tank (LCT6) and probably went down in a storm or accident after the war. She settled with her bow ramp still raised on a sloping bottom inside Triboa Bay, protected from rough water. Two gun platforms sit midships and several small rooms towards the stern allow short penetrations. Lionfish, schools of jacks and reef fish live on the intact hull, and the whole wreck can be seen in one dive. Its shallow depth and shelter make it popular with new divers and photographers.
