L2D Tabby

Also known as: Showa-Nakajima L2D Tabby · L2D Tabby Aircraft

The Tabby was the Japanese transport version of the Douglas DC-3 and flew from Clark Field during the occupation; this one crashed into the bay during the war. Divers discovered the wreck in late 2013. It lies inverted with its cockpit torn open, so the seats and controls can be seen, while the fuselage is still in one piece. One engine and a propeller lie a few metres north of the aircraft. Big groupers and snappers live in and around it, and tidal current can reduce visibility.
