Dahlia

Also known as: Dalhia · YMS 82

Unlike the other wrecks of the bay, the Dahlia has nothing to do with the 1902 eruption: after its naval career it was sold to a building materials firm in Saint-Pierre and caught fire while being converted in the harbour. What remains is a heap of metal plates lying at about 30 m and rising to around 18 m. Orange and yellow sponges cover the metal, and cardinalfish and sergeant majors gather around it. The wreck lies close to the Saint-Pierre pier and only about 50 m from the Diamant and the Biscaye, so dive centres often combine two or three of them in one dive.
