Rainbow's End

Also known as: Rainbows End · Rainbow's End I

Rainbow's End is a slope that climbs gently from the sand to a shallow reef top, with hard and soft corals side by side all the way up. Divers usually drop in off the reef and let the current carry them onto it, then drift along one side and may cross the top to finish in the lee. When the incoming tide brings nutrient-rich water the soft corals bloom and swarms of anthias hang in the flow above the coral. Giant trevally, Napoleon wrasse, hawksbill turtles and whitetip reef sharks are among the larger visitors, and blue ribbon eels and goby-shrimp pairs live in the sand. Dive the World notes it copes better with strong currents than many neighbouring sites.
