Annie's Bommie
Also known as: Annie's Bommies · Annies Bommies
Annie's Bommie has no dramatic wall; instead several big conical bommies rise from a sandy area and give shelter when the current runs. Without current it is a pretty, relaxed dive, but when the flow picks up the soft corals open and the site turns into a blaze of colour. Schools of anthias, fusiliers, trevally and damselfish circle the bommies, while the sand around them holds garden eels, gobies, stingrays and resting whitetip or leopard sharks. Garden Island Resort says the site was found by one of its divemasters, and Scuba Diving reports the legend that Jacques Cousteau spent many hours here.
